We are firm believers in expanding your scope and knowledge through the arts. We are blessed to live close to several towns which boast theaters. Our most local theater, Eunice Players Theater, just presented ‘The 39 Steps’, a play based on Alfred Hitchcock’s movie. The play was more of a comedic spoof on the movie and we really enjoyed watching it. We laughed so much! It was extremely cold in our little black box theater tonight, but after watching the actors run all over the stage and see them in several different costumes, even within the same scene, it was easy to understand why the thermostat was set so low. They all did such a wonderful job and it was great to get out and do something fun as a family.
If you live in a town with a local theater group, I highly recommend trying it out, either as a patron or as a volunteer. It’s great fun and you get to meet interesting people from all walks of life. It really is a great way to broaden your own scope of what goes on around you, gain different perspectives on what has happened in the past, and catch a glimpse into different imaginations. Each of us is truly varied and unique and we have great potential to be awesome and wonderful when we tap into who we truly are. I think one gets the best view of this through the arts. But then again, I guess I’m biased. I admit that this post is quite rushed. I’m sorry it’s so short but I hope you will enjoy it and this wonderful quote I found today.
