Hello. This is going to be a joint effort tonight from Melody and myself John. The first shout out for this fabulous Friday is to one of my favorite sites I’ve been following for a few months called Nerd Fitness. Here is the About page on the site.
~~~”Hi. My name is Steve.
I’m the rebel leader here at Nerd Fitness. I help desk jockeys, nerds, and average Joes level up their lives.
Oh, and sometimes I travel around the world on my Epic Quest of Awesome.
Maybe you’re here because you’re overweight and frustrated because you haven’t found success quite yet. Maybe you’re here because your doctor told you that you’re in danger of some serious health issues if you don’t make changes. Maybe you’re here because you just had a kid, and the reality that you being unhealthy could make THEIR lives more difficult just hit you like a ton of bricks.
Maybe you just want to wake up, look in the mirror, and feel better about yourself.
Whatever reason you have for being here, thank you.
My goal is to inspire the Hell out of you to make positive changes and live a better life. I want to educate you on how to work out properly, cook a decent meal, and consistently improve your health and well being.
The tagline for this site is “Level up your life, every single day.” If I do my job right, you’ll wake up every day a little healthier than you were yesterday – eat a little better, get a little stronger, run a little faster, and feel a little better about yourself.
As we’ve learned from Optimus Prime, small changes can eventually add up to huge results.
I want to share with you a few stories from people like you, normal men and women, young and old, often with families and children, and full-time desk jobs. These are people that found a way to get in incredible shape while still doing all of the things they love. These people followed the lessons learned from Nerd Fitness to level up their lives with pretty drastic results.
I’m showing you these stories because I want you to know that you’re not alone.Everybody tries to get in shape and fails many times before finally breaking through. If you are willing to work hard, educate yourself, and stay consistent, you can achieve results that lasts for the rest of your life.
Here are some of my favorite success stories (with even more here):
- Saint’s Success Story: 60 Pounds Overweight to 6 Pack Abs
- Meet Staci: Your New Powerlifting Superhero
- 10 Months, 128lbs Lost. The Best Transformation I’ve Ever Seen.
- Tony’s Success Story: 4 Months, 46 Pounds Lost
- 6-Week Success Stories
You are capable of great things If you’re interested in learning how you can start living better today, why not take the red pill and see how deep the rabbit hole goes?” ~~~
Please check out this really good website. Hopefully you will find something to help you out.
Melody, here. 🙂 I’d like to take this time to call your attention to a wonderful place in Louisiana, the Jungle Gardens at Avery Island. I’ve been there at least three times and I enjoy it every time I go. Our son has been there twice and our girls, once. It’s definitely one of the places you should visit when you stop in our area. There is a fee to get into the gardens but it’s reasonable. One of the niftiest features is a large Buddha statue. The wildlife in the area includes many different kinds of birds and, of course, alligators. There is a large platform available for viewing the birds in nesting season. Even if the birds are not there when you visit, the platform/pier is a peaceful place to take a breather and enjoy the scenery. I think I’ve promo-ed the gardens before but it really is a great place to visit. Other sites you might check out while in that area are ‘Shadows on the Teche‘, the Tabasco plant (where they make and bottle Tabasco sauce…it really is interesting if you stop in on a weekday when the machines are running), and the Rip Van Winkle gardens on Jefferson Island. All these wonderful places are in the same area but if you wish to see them all, you should probably plan to stay a couple of days. And the cost to get into each place is definitely reasonable. There’s so much history in each place and so much to soak in!
Today’s song was chosen by Starshine. I hope you enjoy it! The only thing I really get sad about concerning this song is that the fellow who did it first, who is an /excellent/ artist, entertainer, and composer kinda gets forgotten so you should check him out, too. Jimmy Needham. As it turns out, he’s got a new album either out already or soon coming out. You can find out more about that album when you click on the link.
