My first mandala sits unpainted while my second just flowed freely in both digital editing and in watercolor. I’m calling the second one “Refining Fire” and it’s based on Philippians 4:8. This verse is so helpful for positive thinking! It encourage people to “focus your thoughts on what is true, noble, righteous, pure, lovable or admirable, on some virtue or on something praiseworthy.” This is one of my favorite scriptures because this is the way I want to be, what I want to keep my mind focused on. My digital art skills still need work, mostly because one much be more patient. I think this piece came out well, considering I’m still a novice in digital art. I’m much happier with the painted version which I will share when all three mandalas are completed. I hope you enjoy this one and the positivity I hope to convey through it.
I have several things to share with you today! I had an idea about two or three months ago and I was only able to complete it over the past weekend. I’d painted three background panels in three different styles for a mixed media project. I won’t share the photos of each of them because I really like how the collage photo came out. I’ll share that to save space, since I use the free version of WordPress and space is limited. I also have four photos I snapped and edited with Gimp for you to view. To find out more info about any of these items, please click on the photo you like here to be directed to my deviantArt page for each. (Info on the triptych is all on the same page at dA.) There, you’ll also be able to see which of them are available for purchase and in what form (print, canvas, art print, mug, magnet, cards, etc.) None of them are available to download.
I hope you enjoyed seeing these photos, which I’ve had to sit on for a while. The absence of internet at our home has put a severe halt to how often I can share. I also have to choose which items seem the most important to share first. I’ve tried to upload my items in the order in which they were created but this set, I felt, needed to be grouped thus. I’ve been uploading current works as I complete them since we’re now able to go to the library on a somewhat regular basis. I thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out my work and for your kind words and encouragement, which seem to come when I most need them. Thanks again!
I created two mixed media artworks yesterday. I’m happy to be able to share them with you today! To find out more about either of these pieces, or to purchase a print, canvas, or gift item of either, simply click on each of the photos here to be directed to my deviantArt page for each of them. If you like what you see and wish to spread the love, please do share my work on your favorite social media websites. Thanks so much!
I apologize for my recent inactivity here on WordPress. Work has really picked up since Mardi Gras is upon us. I can hardly believe it’s next Tuesday! I have been working on art and sewing projects in the time I’m able to find after work hours. I’ve completed 2 special occasion dresses with accessories and at least 3 art pieces. I don’t know how many photos I’ve snapped and edited. Here’s a portion of one of my art pieces, snapped and edited through Instagram. I hope you like it!
“Desolation” is my last artistic creation of 2014. It’s a mixed media straw painting done in black and gold inks and black and white acrylic paints. For more information, please click on the photo. You will be taken to my deviantART page where you can read about the artwork, purchase a digital download, or purchase a art print or gift. There are more size options for this one, as I uploaded a higher resolution. I hope you enjoy seeing the work! Feel free to comment or ask questions.
In case you missed seeing last night’s post, we will no longer have internet access from our home. Most of my posts will happen on Saturday’s from now on and I will be able to check my reader through my phone. I may also post from there for reblogs and things like that. I’ll see you soon! And thank you very much for stopping by to read and view my work. I appreciate all the support, encouragement, and connections I’ve made since starting this blog. You are all important to me and I’m happy you are here! Thank you very much!
I usually pick up a few boxes of Christmas cards at the end of the season when they go on sale so I’ll have plenty on hand for next Christmas. I’d forgotten I wasn’t able to do that last year, so when cards started coming in, I kinda freaked out. We had no extra money for cards this year. John suggested simply making cards for those we receive cards from. So that’s what we did. These are out creations. For information on who did what, please click the photos to go to my deviantART pages for each.
I’m sorry about the quality of the last photo. I didn’t have any time to clean it up after snapping the shot. I wanted to wish all my readers and online friends and family a Merry Christmas, a Happy Holiday Season, and a prosperous and joyful New Year!
I have another couple of photos to share with you, as well as one art piece I finished this week. I’d started it during our Thanksgiving break but wasn’t able to finish it for one reason and another. I hope you enjoy these! To find out more about each one, click the photos to go to my deviantART pages for each. There you can see which ones are available for purchase as photo prints, art prints, canvas prints, or more. You can also see which ones are available as downloads for personal use only. Please do not use any of my work in any way without asking my permission first.
