Excitement: Holding My Virtual Breath

It’s really exciting to me that our little town is finally opening an art gallery. And the nifty thing is that it’s not only one gallery strictly for serious pro artists, but one for the community hobbyists, as well! This is fabulous news for both John and me, and for our girls, too. The local cafe can only hold so many pieces of our art so this will open another door for us. Woo-hoo! I’ll be submitting “Bound By Fate” and Mask Media Series #7: “Into The Inner Workings.” I might be able to submit my last mixed media pair if I can complete them in time for the opening. Here’s hoping!

Today’s offerings include a photo of some Steampunk projects I’m working on for the event in November, as well as my contribution for today’s art challenge.

I made a mahjong necklace today and I plan to use the phoenix pendant on another jewelry item. The chain, I plan to use as lacing eyes for a vest or corset. We'll see!

Today's art challenge was "Autumn". I chose to paint a persimmon leaf which had fallen off my dad's tree. It's better than previous attempts of like kind so I'm counting this as a victory.

I incorporated today’s art challenge into our art lesson. The girls need more work on drawing and sketching. At least, that’s what Starshine told me. πŸ™‚ It’s interesting to see how their eyes interpret what they see, as opposed to what mine see. It’s like that with everything and everyone, I believe. Perception is an interesting thing…
