Cee’s Black and White Challenge/ Today’s Art Challenge

I have been seeing Cee’s photo challenge participants all over my WordPress reader and it looks like so much fun so I decided to take part in a few of them. Today’s challenge at Cee’s blog was a black and white photo of something that is beautiful to you. As an added bonus, what I had in mind for today’s art challenge, which was “your favorite thing”. Here’s my contribution. Please click on the photo to see it and the full description on my deviantART page. It’s available for purchase there, if you’d like.

I snapped the photo with my cell and used Pixlr Express to edit it.

More Photos Of New Orleans

I didn’t have time to create anything today. I didn’t even have time to edit more of the photos I took yesterday so instead, I’ll share some more of the ones I uploaded to my deviantART account. I hope you’ll enjoy them!

When we stopped at St. Louis Cemetary 1, I snapped this shot of a floral medallion adorning the back gate. I wanted to do a dark, grungy, black and white finish on this one but when I bumped up the vibrance, the color variations were so beautiful that I left it alone. I used my cell to snap the shot and Pixlr Express to edit it.

I love the old buildings in downtown New Orleans! They have such an old world beauty and even after so many years, they are still standing and still useful. I think there's a lesson to be learned there.

We passed this sign on our way out of New Orleans. I thought it looked nifty so I snapped a shot with my cell, hoping for the best. I edited it with Pixlr Express.

And that’s it for today. I edited all these yesterday. I didn’t have time to even have fun yet today so I’m signing off to do that now. Feel free to leave comments or questions! Thanks for stopping by!

More Photos

I haven’t had much of an opportunity to create art over the last couple of days. We’re playing catch up on all the chores that were neglected while we were busy with the theater production. But I keep snapping photos here and there and I got a few good ones today that I’ll share with you. I hope you enjoy them! I used my cell to snap the shots and for the editing on most of them, I used Pixlr Express.

This is the unedited version of the snail shell photo. It was such a pretty little thing! Magiba was kinda bummed because it wouldn't come out of the shell.

I've been enjoying Emerald Wake's snail photographs. (You can see one by clicking here and then check out the others while you're there!) So it was really cool when John found this snail and showed it to Magiba, who then ran inside to show it to me. I snapped a photo and this is the edited version.

Today's art challenge in the "Your Daily Art Challenge" facebook group. This was my contribution. I thought long and hard about it before snapping the shot, though. I really wanted something different but I'm glad I snapped this. It came out pretty nifty! I'm happy with the shot and I guess that's what matters.

More Photo Fun

I’m still recovering from the production of “The Diary of Anne Frank” and it’s slow going indeed. I haven’t created any new artwork but I’ve been snapping random photos when I see something interesting. These are a few I got today.

John and I drove out to see the sunset. We really weren't sure there'd be much to see because of the clouds that had been coming in all day. Boy were we wrong! The sky was gorgeous this evening! So I snapped a shot. If you want to see what John captured today, click on this picture to go to his blog!

This is a fading white rose. I didn't do much in the initial edit except to sharpen the photo. It was blurry, so I edited it along that theme. The title is "Ghostly Blossoms 2" and if you wish to purchase a print, you can check out my deviantART page. The link is in the side bar. :)

The title of this one is "Ghostly Blossoms 1" and these are more dying roses. Who says flowers are useless after they fade? If you'd like to purchase a print of this shot, you can check out my deviantART page. You can click on the photo or the link in the sidebar.
